OSLO QUARTET SERIES PRESENTS:

Digital concert with Eldbjørg Hemsing!

Oslo Quartet Series have been so lucky to work with world star Eldbjørg Hemsing! This digital concert is recorded in the studio of the Finnish-Norwegian visual artist Irma Salo Jæger, and Irma's art will be the framework for the music throughout the concert.

A champion of Norway’s rich musical tradition, Eldbjørg Hemsing (b. 1990) has made herself a name in her native country since her solo debut with the Bergen Philharmonic at the age of 11. Today she counts amongst the leading violinists of the younger generation.

Eldbjørg has been a soloist with a number of international orchestras, and masters a wide repertoire ranging from Bach, Beethoven and Bartók to Tan Dun. Elbjørg also has several CD releases behind her, most recently a recording with Grieg's sonatas which was released in March last year and garnered a chorus of praise by critics.

The Finnish Norwegian artist Irma Salo Jæger (b.1928) has been a prominent figure in the Norwegian art world since the 1960s; by virtue of her strong political activism for the welfare of artists, and not least, through her own significant oeuvre. With unwavering persistence throughout her entire career, Irma Salo Jæger has worked with the formal aspects of painting where very little is left to chance. The pictorial structure, composition and palette are meticulously toned and modified.

Irma has a studio in Lilleborg in Oslo, where Oslo Quartet Series har been so lucky to be allowed in to record a concert with Eldbjørg Hemsing. Two fantastic artists that meet in a swirl of colour and music, form, lines and composition. We promise a beautiful experience!
